DfE Paid Teaching Internships

In conjunction with the Department for Education, TKAT Teacher Training is offering undergraduates the opportunity for a paid 3 week internship. Interns will be paid £425 a week and this will appeal to anyone thinking of teaching maths, physics, chemistry, computing, or MFL. 

Internships will take place between 23 June to 11 July 2025

Debden Park High School, Debden, Essex
Hillview School for Girls, Tonbridge, Kent
Miltoncross Academy, Portsmouth, Hampshire
Orchards Academy, Swanley, Kent
Rainham School for Girls, Rainham, Kent
St Michael's Catholic College, Llewellyn St, London


We are one of a small number of Trusts nationally, approved by the Department for Education, to provide an internship programme for undergraduates currently studying at university.

Our internship applications for summer 2025 have now closed.

We will be in contact in January with those we would like to invite for an interview.


Schools taking part in our partnership will be announced shortly.

Interns will also be given ongoing support from the TKAT SCITT team with school visits and support in applying for teacher training. 

All interns will be guaranteed an interview for the TKAT SCITT Programme.

This experience is offered to undergraduates in any year group and our
partnership will be taking up to 20 interns per year across our schools. 

Applicants must be available to attend the programme from mid June.
