With TKAT's Teaching Internships, you will be able to experience the teaching profession, gain new skills and be paid £300 (£400 for those aged 21 or over) per week for your time. So, if you are an undergraduate on a STEM, or MFL related degree and are interested in teaching secondary maths, physics, chemistry, French, Spanish or computing, then the Teaching Internship programme could be for you.

Internships will take place between 24 June to 12 July 2024

Schools taking part in our partnership:

Debden Park High School, Debden, Essex

Brockhill Performing Arts College, Hythe, Kent

Hillview School for Girls, Tonbridge, Kent

Chichester High School, Chichester, West Sussex

Rainham School for Girls, Rainham, Kent

Miltoncross Academy, Portsmouth, Hampshire

Orchards Academy, Swanley, Kent

We are one of a small number of Trusts nationally, approved by the Department for Education, to provide an internship programme for undergraduates currently studying at university.

Interns will be paid £300 (£400 for those aged 21 or over) per week during the 3-week placement.

We will provide opportunities to:

· Learn about key aspects of the pedagogy of teaching;

· Gain classroom experience and get involved in lessons;

· Work with existing experienced teachers;

· Work with a range of students;

Applicants must either be studying a subject with maths, chemistry, computing, physics, French or Spanish content included in it or have a strong A Level in those subjects.

This year, those studying for a Masters may be considered.

Schools taking part in our partnership will be announced shortly.

Interns will also be given ongoing support from the TKAT SCITT team with school visits and support in applying for teacher training.

All interns will be guaranteed an interview for the TKAT SCITT Programme.

This experience is offered to undergraduates in any year group and our
partnership will be taking up to 10 interns per year across our schools.

Applicants must be available to attend the programme from mid June.
