Part-Time/Flexible Learning School Centred Initial Teacher Training Route

Our part-time/flexible learning School Centred Initial Teacher Training (SCITT) curriculum enables trainees to complete their training to gain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) across two academic years.

It begins in September and finishes by June in the second year of the course.  However, the finish date may be negotiable depending on the trainee’s ability to successfully meet the Teachers’ Standards.

This course is ideal for trainees who have a growing family or have a part-time job.

It involves a combination of centre-based and school-based training. The training days will be hosted and delivered by strong classroom practitioners who currently teach in our partner schools and by experts in behaviour management, safeguarding, SEND, wellbeing and neuroscience.

As well as QTS, trainees may opt for the Distance Learning PGCE with Leeds Beckett during either their first or second year of training.
