Internships

DfE Paid Teaching Internships

Internships will take place between 22nd June to 10th July 2026

In conjunction with the Department for Education, and in partnership with Get into Teaching, TKAT is offering second, third and final year undergraduate and master's students the opportunity to experience teaching through the Teaching Internships Programme. 

Applications close at 5pm on Friday 13th March or beforehand if all places have been filled. Please note applications with invalid or incomplete information will not be processed. Applicants selected for interview will be contacted by email by 20th March 2026

TKAT Teacher Training is offering undergraduates the opportunity for a paid 3 week internship. Interns will be paid £455 a week. 

You need to:

  • be interested in teaching chemistry, computing, design and technology, maths, physics or modern foreign languages  
  • be an undergraduate in your second, third or final year, or a master’s student, studying for a degree in or related to one of the above subjects 
  • be 18 or older by time you start your internship (Summer 2026)
  • have a right to work in the UK - if you're an international student, check your visa as many student visas only allow you to work 20 hours per week during term time, but full-time during university holidays.
  • be available to attend the full programme from 22nd June to 10th July 2026.
